All smiles for Keeley Hawes - but don't expect too many happy-ever-afters in her new drama on ITV1. In The Best Man, screening later this year, she plays a character whose big day is threatened by violence, suicide and a nasty secret about her new husband [played by Coupling star Richard Coyle].
'It's a love story, but it's also a dark psychological thriller - with a shocking denouement,' says producer Hugh Warren.
The Best Man of the title is played by former Bond villain Toby Stephens; ex-Holby star George Irving also makes an appearance. So what chance of The Best Man going to a series?
'This is absolutely a one-off,' adds Hugh. 'It would be pretty impossible to do a series because they don't all survive!'
